Sci Fi Organizations:

There are going to be a few organized Science Fiction clubs represented at our Convention, this year, besides our host organization (SMI).
This year we will have representation from Klingon Assault Group (a Star Trek club), Imperial Klingon Forces (Star Trek), Colonial Defense Forces (Battlestar Galactica), WIBrowncoats (Firefly/Serenity), Twincitiesscapers (FarScape), along with some independent, at-large fans of Dr. Who, Stargate, Stargate SG-1, and Stargate Atlantis, Red Dwarf, Star Wars, and many more.
This will be your chance to meet up with some of these fans, and possibly join one of the organizations, or if there isn't an organization existing in your area, find out what it takes to get one going.
Come on out, don't be shy.

STARFLEET MARINES INTERNATIONAL:

The host organization for this convention is an affiliate chapter of STARFLEET MARINES INTERNATIONAL (SMI).  SMI is an international fellowship of Star Trek and science fiction fans with its organizational structure based upon, and patterned after that of the United States Marine Corps.  SMI is not a paramilitary organization, but when we "role play" as our SMI personae we conduct ourselves as Marines.  This organization was formed of, by, and for Star Trek, and science fiction fans who looked for a little more military flavor to their fan experience.

We're not going to take up a lot of space here explaining SMI to you.  Those who are interested in learning more about SMI can check us out at http://www.WeAreSMI.org.  Or, they can drop by the informational booth at the convention, and actually talk to a "real live STARFLEET MARINE."

Also, during the convention, there will be a special session scheduled for SMI personnel to gather, interact, exchange ideas, offer solutions to problems, and generally "hang out."  Non-SMI personnel are invited to attend, as well, and are encouraged to ask questions.  We're calling this a "Marine Muster."  We'll be conducting some official SMI business that needs to be taken care of, since we're going to have a few of our number actually present at this convention.  Check your programs, upon arrival at M.O.O.N. CON, or check the schedule boards posted at Con HQ/Registration.

If you have any questions about this "Muster," or you have suggestions or comments, please, contact our Convention Coordinator.  Contact information is displayed elsewhere on this site.
